Ian Wallis

Ian Wallis had wide experience in the further education sector, having worked in seven different colleges across the UK, including one college of higher education. His career began at WHSmith as a management trainee, offering early insights into institutional workings. After two and a half years travelling, disillusionment with commerce led him to a lecturer post in management studies at just twenty-three. That he felt able to teach management with little experience says much about his cavalier spirit, surviving by his wits in challenging situations.
